Sign of the Crimes has been a very special project. It was being developed during the 3rd semester at FIEA. The students were supposed to make games that can be used for purposes other than entertainment like education, military, medical. We playtested our game at the Lake Highland Elementary School in Orlando and we got an amazing response(positive).
Our team was successful in creating a solid game prototype in which the Leap Motion technology translates player's input and provides appropriate American Sign Language letters as output. But, the team faced certain problems with respect to the detection of certain letters. Therefore, we decided to research further with the Perception Neuron Technology
We were able to integrate our project with Perception Neuron. The biggest advantage on using the technology was that the hand movement became extremely smooth which was not possible with Leap Motion. But, we still could not get the level of accuracy in detecting certain letters as we were hoping for. Therefore, we decided to continue our project with Leap Motion.
