Ley Lines (March 2016 - December 2016)
Capstone project at Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy (COHORT 12)
Summary
Ley Lines is an action adventure game about exploring emergent and powerful abilities and bringing life back to the planet. The main protagonist is Vala, a fearless warrior created by her own planet Miria to save it's life from the corrupted shelleks (Enemy). Vala uses different Ley powers spread throughout the game and fights for her planet.
Development Engine: Unreal Engine 4
Team Size: 14
Role: Level Designer and Producer
Responsibilities as Level Designer:
1. Implemented gameplay and UI using Unreal Blueprints
2. Designed the multiple level layouts and gameplay spaces: 6 puzzle rooms and Boss Chamber
3. Worked with artists and game designers to ensure quality and consistency
4. Conducted multiple playtests sessions to improve gameplay based on the feedback
Responsibilities as Producer:
1. Led the daily standup meetings, prioritized tasks, and facilitated communication between teams
2. Responsible for assisting the lead producer in all areas related to the development process
3. Responsible for making arrangements for beta testing and ensuring timely delivery of deliverables
4. Online Marketing
5. Reviewed the project and ensured that the vision is achieved, recommended any changes if required
Working on Ley Lines was a fun, learning experience. I got massive exposure to Unreal Engine 4 and learned a lot of unreal engine components: level editor, matinee, particle effects, UMG, animation blueprints, material creation and gameplay blueprints.

Implementing the UI
There are 5 ley line powers and each of them have their particular color associated with it. The way I programmed the UI is that when the character goes through different ley lines pedestal, the power changes and so does the UI.

Spotlights/Mentions
After release, Ley Lines received many mentions from the fans. But the biggest achievement was that Epic Games spotlighted Ley Lines in their spotlight projects section on the Launcher
